2021 Women's Leadership Award Winner, Vanissa Murphy
The Livingston Parish Chamber is proud to announce Vanissa Murphy as one of the 2021 Women's Leadership Award recipients.
PROFESSIONAL
Vanissa is the co-owner of Quality Engineering & Surveying, LLC, a company she and her husband started in 2009 out of her father-in-law’s closet. Quality has exploded in growth and now has 76 employees. Her company has been listed and recognized by INC 5000 and, for 6 years straight, has been included in the LSU top 100 companies. In addition, Quality has been named the Livingston Parish Business of the year and Vanissa was nominated as a 2021 Baton Rouge Business Report Influential Woman in Business. In addition, Vanissa is a photographer and a new boutique owner.
COMMUNITY
Vanissa is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Livingston program and was part of the project group that built a playground in French Settlement. She also has served on numerous Chamber committees including the Women’s Leadership Council and several Signature Events. Vanissa has learned through these roles that leadership is never easy, and you can’t always know how your decisions will impact those you are leading. She has learned in those challenges that everyone will not always agree with your decisions.
MENTORING
Vanissa has worked closely with women in her company to guide them towards making the right decisions and empower them in their positions. On the direction of women’s roles and contributions in Livingston Parish, Vanissa believes awards like these will continue to shine a light on women in business and the positive recognition will bring more women forward.
