From the French Settlement Police Department:
"Hello everyone, you may have noticed construction activities behind the French Settlement Town Hall. Well, that's the French Settlement Police Department receiving much needed improvements.
A big THANKS to our outgoing Speaker Clay Schexnayder (District 81 Louisiana State House of Representatives and a proud native of French Settlement), who worked with Police Chief Cary Mosby to secure state funding to improve, update and renovate our police department. The finished renovations will allow better public access to the police department, while allowing improved security, as well as allowing officers protected access to and from the building during inclement weather. These improvements will shield police vehicles' expensive equipment from heat and sun. The appropriations will also allow Chief Mosby to purchase two desperately needed new police vehicles to replace the aging fleet.
Upon completion of the project, Chief Mosby, along with the French Settlement's Board of Aldermen, who dedicated the building to the French Settlement Police Department, are planning to host an Open House in the next few months for everyone to visit and view their renovated police department!"
