Mami’s Mexican Restaurant in Springfield, LA Awarded Livingston Parish New Business of the Year 2021
Mami’s Mexican Restaurant in Springfield, LA was awarded the Livingston Parish New Business of the Year for 2021. The announcement was made on Wednesday, January 19th the parish’s business association, the Livingston Parish Chamber, at the Annual Meeting and Awards Event.
Partners Sandy Dennis, Israel Miranda and Denisse Valezco were present to accept the award. Ms. Dennis stated in an acceptance speech that she was overwhelmed by how accepting the Springfield community and customers beyond has been of the restaurant.
April Wehrs, Chamber President announced the winner. In the announcement, Wehrs noted that, “Opening a restaurant during these challenging years is notable. To open a successful one, is a true testimony to the business partners and their knowledge of the industry.”
While 2021 may have been a tough year, this business pressed on, as business does, and opened a location in Springfield. Within ten days of opening, they were faced with Hurricane Ida and were forced to close as the east side of the parish was hit especially hard by Ida.
Pressing on, they have been embraced by a community that was eager for a new thriving business of this caliber. In the restaurant industry, the success of the food, service and pricing tells the story and this one is of success. Locals love this place plus it draws people from other areas.
The New Business of the Year award is for businesses which opened in the current year.
